Guaranteed Green Fertilizer and Weed Control Treatment

Our full season program includes five seasonally adjusted applications of fertilizer approximately every 4 to 6 weeks through the growing season. Weed control is applied only where needed in an environmentally conscientious manner. Lawn Master is the first company in southern Alberta utilizing a two hose application system which allows us to apply weed control products only when necessary while minimizing risk to people and pets..

Spring Dethatching Cut

This spring service replaces power raking since we believe it is more beneficial to lawns and prevents root system damage. Dethatching tines are attached to the front of our mowers and we lower the cutting blade in order to do a thorough job of cleaning up turf areas. This mechanical operation not only improves turf appearance by removing matted grass and leaves but also combs out excessive thatch so moisture and nutrients can effectively penetrate the turf. We start providing this service in spring when the weather allows through until the end of April.

Lawn & Yard Maintenance

Lawns are cut once per week at a different angle on a four week rotation. We recommend a cutting height of at least 2 1/2 inches so the grass leaves can gather sunlight and also shade the roots and soil for moisture retention. Edges are trimmed with a string trimmer on a weekly basis. We either grasscycle or bag clippings and deposit them on a composting site for future use as nutrient and fibre rich soil.

Aerating

This procedure mechanically removes plugs of thatch and earth from the turf. Our clay based soils are particularily prone to compaction. When the soil under a lawn gets hard, it cannot absorb the nutrients it needs to survive. An aeration will also help a lawn be more drought resistant during the hot and dry months of summer. Aeration is the best way to optimize the use of water and fertilizer to keep your lawn looking like a soft green carpet. Aeration can be done any time during the growing season (from spring through fall).

Lawn Edging

This cosmetic service significantly improves the look of turf concrete edges by cutting away soil and turf roots which have overgrown these edges. For walking safety reasons, we leave only a very small edge trough along the concrete. This service can be provided any time during the growing season but many customers enjoy having the benefits of 'the look' as early in the season as possible.

One time / Vacation Cuts

We offer this for customers who only need our Lawn Maintenance service for a limited time during the cutting season. If you already know the date range for when you will need your lawn cut , we'll set up the work order now.

Roundup Vegetation Control

When weeds take over non-turf areas like parking pads and back alley fence lines, our Roundup vegetation control program provides a great solution. While not sterilizing the soil, Roundup will take care of any vegetation growing in undesired areas. Depending on the situation, one to three applications per season will keep the weed inspector from writing up a citation. We provide vegetation control services for residential, commercial and industrial properties.

Sprinkler System Winterization

Lawn Master's winterization process ensures your irrigation system is properly turned off and protected from freezing temperatures. Compressed air removes moisture from the lines and other critical components. Frozen water in your irrigation system during the winter can cause thousands of dollars in damage and require major repairs or even system replacement. To protect your investment, we encourage you to arrange for this service well before the arrival of winter temperatures!

Snow Clearing

Consider Lawn Master’s residential and commercial snow clearing service for your property this winter!

Our monthly snow clearing service is automatically triggered as soon as there is an accumulation of 1" or if there has been drifting. Our crews are on call 7 days a week to clear walks and driveways when it snows or when the wind blows. If snow accumulates over 1" after the service has been performed on a snow day the crews will be out the following day.

Our monthly snow plowing service for parking lots and roadways is automatically triggered as soon as there is an accumulation of 2 inches or more. Our crews are monitoring weather conditions 24/7 and ready to provide excellent service as soon as it's required.

Seasonal C9 Holiday Lighting

Lawn Master will hang and remove our C9 LED Christmas Lights

Colour options include Red, Blue, Green, Bright White, Warm White, Orange and Purple.

Installations begin in November and the lights will be removed in January.
